Does Your Dentist Use Laser Dentistry?

happy smiling attractive woman

Laser technology has revolutionized many industries and healthcare fields. Dentistry is no different. In fact, dental lasers are quickly becoming the most preferred means of protecting, improving and repairing your teeth and gums. Not only are dental lasers a win for patients in terms of comfort and healing, but they are also beneficial for dentists in their outstanding accuracy and precision.

At Peninsula Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, we’ve proudly invested in the Nightwalker dental laser at our Charleston practice. We are excited about the many ways in which we can improve your dental care experience with this modern technology.

What Treatments Can Be Performed with the Nightwalker Dental Laser?

The Nightwalker dental laser is an advanced type of dental laser that can be used in various dental procedures, including:

Soft Tissue Procedures: The Nightwalker laser is commonly used for soft tissue surgeries, such as gum contouring, frenectomy (removal of frenulum), and gingival recontouring. It enables precise cutting and coagulation of soft tissues, resulting in minimal bleeding and reduced healing time.

Periodontal Treatment: It is effective for treating periodontal diseases, including gum inflammation and pocket reduction. The laser selectively targets and eliminates bacteria, promoting gum health and reducing the depth of periodontal pockets.

Endodontic Procedures: The laser can be used during root canal treatments to disinfect the root canals and eliminate bacteria. It helps in sterilizing the affected area and promoting better outcomes for endodontic procedures.

Teeth Whitening: The Nightwalker laser aids in teeth whitening by activating whitening agents applied to the teeth. The laser energy accelerates the whitening process, leading to brighter smiles in a shorter time compared to traditional methods.

The Benefits of Laser Dentistry

There is a reason we are so proud to use the Nightwalker Dental Laser at Peninsula Cosmetic & Family Dentistry. Our laser dentistry technology allows us to bring the following valued benefits to our patients during and after their dental treatments:

Reduced Discomfort: The laser’s precision and minimally invasive nature result in less discomfort during and after dental procedures. It often reduces the need for anesthesia, making it more comfortable for patients.

Faster Healing: The focused energy of the Nightwalker laser stimulates cellular regeneration and accelerates the healing process. This leads to reduced post-operative pain, swelling, and faster recovery times for patients.

Precision and Control: The laser’s ability to target specific tissues allows for precise treatment

while preserving the surrounding healthy tissues. Our Charleston dentists have better control over the depth and extent of laser penetration, resulting in improved clinical outcomes.

Minimized Bleeding: The laser’s coagulating properties enable effective hemostasis during procedures, minimizing bleeding and providing a clearer surgical field for our dentist. Reduced bleeding enhances visibility and simplifies the workflow.
