Lightwalker Dental Laser
The Lightwalker laser allows our doctors to do many procedures, including fillings, without anesthesia. This state-of-the-art laser outperforms dental handpieces in many instances while simultaneously offering less pain and shorter healing time to patients.

The Dental Wand
The Wand is a Computer Assisted Anesthesia System. It is significantly more comfortable than the syringe, which greatly reduces patient anxiety.
It also allows SINGLE TOOTH ANESTHESIA! This eliminates the need to numb a large area when we are working on a single tooth. Our patients can return to work/life without a numb face.
Sedation Dentistry
Many dental offices promote “sedation dentistry” through the use of nitrous oxide, or laughing gas. This is an effective method to alleviate mild anxiety and allow patients to leave the office without an escort.
However, many patients require more than nitrous oxide to be comfortable in the dental office.
In addition to nitrous oxide, Peninsula Dentistry also offers oral AND IV sedation.
Depending on the procedure and our patient’s anxiety level, we can provide the most appropriate and effective sedation possible.
Oral sedation involves taking a pill prior to your appointment that delivers very effective anxiolysis and amnesiac results. Not only are you completely calm, but you will remember very little of your appointment after returning home.
IV sedation allows a very safe and completely comfortable experience for our patients. We offer IV conscious AND moderate anesthesia (provided by a licensed certified nurse anesthestist). IV sedation is generally used for longer appointments (including full mouth cases in one visit!) and for surgeries.
